Your Consultation Visits: What to Expect
During your first visit to Prolific Chiropractic, Dr. Roechelle Smith will carefully listen and gather information about your health history, your current condition and hear any concerns you may have. Following this will be a complete chiropractic examination that tests your reflexes and flexibility and employs standard neurological, orthopedic and postural tests. Your consent will precede any part of the treatment process.
Depending upon your needs, X-rays may be taken. Dr. Smith will provide you with a detailed report of the findings and answer any questions that you may have.
Your Health Acquisition Plan: The Process
Together, you and Dr. Smith will set health recovery and maintenance goals and develop a Health Acquisition Plan. It will include a wellness program that is tailored to your lifestyle, budget and expectations.
The key form of treatment is an “adjustment”, a gentle manipulation of the spine to correct misalignments or dislocations of the vertebrae. Chiropractors are health professionals who are trained to diagnose and specifically treat these spinal subluxations. Returning the misaligned bone to its proper position enables the body to heal.
Other in-office therapies are available to assist with health maintenance such as traction and cold laser therapy. Specific stretches and stabilization exercises will be given at the appropriate time. Nutrition, homeopathic remedies are additional support options.
